Gale LaRosa Killette 55, of Hurlock, MD departed this life on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD. He was born on June 5, 1957 in Hurlock, MD. He was the son of the Late Leolin Dockins Jr. and Correne (Jackie) Killette Cannon. Gale was raised by his Late grandparents Leolin Dockins Sr. and Mary Lizzy Dockins, his father the Late Leolin Dockins Jr. stepmother Ann Dockins and the Thompsontown community. He graduated from North Dorchester High School “Class of 1976”. Gale was employed at Cambridge South Dorchester High School as a custodian, Talbot County Highway Administration, Colonial Parking Garage in Washington, D.C., Shuffelt Sand and Gravel (truck driver), and Allen Foods (Security Guard). At an early age he attended Thompson Chapel United Methodist Church in Thompsontown, MD and later years after moving to Washington, D.C. Mt. Zion Pentecostal U.H.C.A., after returning home from Washington, D.C. he attended Bethel A.M.E. Church, Cambridge, MD and Wallace Temple A.M.E. Zion, Rhodesdale, MD. Gale liked car racing, tinkering on cars, detailing cars, trucks and buses. (But don’t leave the keys with him). He always greeted you with a smile, kind words and knew how to make you laugh. He had a nick name for everyone, do you remember yours?? Gale loved people from birth to old age, but most of all food and more food. Gale was joined in Holy Matrimony to Gwendolyn Bolden on January 30, 1993. Gale leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Gwendolyn Bolden Killette, Hurlock, MD, Mother - Correne Jackie Killette Cannon, Bowie, MD, Stepmother – Ann Dockins Aston, PA, Stepdaughter – Melva Bolden, Hurlock, MD, Brothers – Gary Killette, Bowie, MD, Clevon Killette , Cambridge, MD, James Killette (Tammy) , Bowie, MD, Leolin Dockins III, Houston, TX, Jay Dockins, Aston, PA, Sister – Lisa Johnson, Bowie, MD, Brother-in-law – Reginald Bolden, Federalsbury, MD, James Bolden, Laurel, DE, Sisters-in Law – Regina Jenkins, Hurlock, MD, Gloria Smullen, Piscataway, NJ, Aunt – Julia Killette Lofton, Baltimore, MD, Grandchildren – Harkel Russell and Mariah Barham, Hurlock, MD, nine nieces , three nephews and many many special friends, a host of cousins, other relatives and his Thompsontown family. He is preceded in death by his father Leolin Dockins, Jr., Grandparents – Leolin Dockins, Sr., Mary Lizzy Dockins and Mary Evelyn Killette.
Services will be Thurs., Dec. 13, 2012 1pm at Bethel AME Church 623 Pine St. Cambridge, MD with a viewing Wednesday evening 6-8pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to service. Interment in Thompsontown Cemetery.
