Benjamin “Benny” Jason Henry departed this life on June 20, 2020 at his home in Perryville MD. He was born September 26, 1956 in Cambridge, MD to the late Benjamin Jason Henry, Sr. and Mildred Oneida Dean Henry.
Benny attended Cambridge High School, Cambridge, MD graduating with the class of 1974. He loved sports and was a member of the basketball team. His classmates nicknamed him “slow-mo” for his lack of speed on the court.
After graduating high school Ben attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Princess Anne, Maryland and in 1979, enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served six years as a Chaplain’s Assistant where he earned various accommodations. His duty stations included locations in both the United States and Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1985.
Ben held various positions throughout his life, the final one with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at Perry Point, Maryland.
Benny was a people person. He loved to talk to every person he met. His family was very important to him. He would call anytime to check on various ones or just to chat. Benny found a faithful companion in his dog named “Bella”. He was also an avid sports fan and loved the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles.
Benny leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Benjamin Jason Henry III, Charlotte, NC; a brother Wayne E. Henry and his wife Linda, an Aunt, Carrie Dean, Baltimore, MD and many cousins, other relatives, classmates and friends.
