Hazel Mae “Walters” McCready, 79 of Cambridge died Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her residence. She was born May 27, 1941 to the late George and Martha Walters in Belle Haven, VA. Hazel was raised in Virginia until she relocated to Maryland with her uncle, John Carter.
During her stay in Maryland, Hazel met and married the late Sharkey W. McCready. She was known for her great cooking skills and family gatherings. Hazel was well loved for her bluntness and hard work. She held various jobs in Cambridge as well as Salisbury but was renownedly known for her crab picking. Hazel relocated to Salisbury where she met many friends. After some time, she moved back to Cambridge until God called her home. Hazel would call each person individually just to ask what you were doing. We have had many good days at Hazel’s house, reminiscent of the movie “Big Momma’s House.”
